Tom Loraine – On The Manor

4th July 2019

Tom Loraine continues his good form in his latest catch report…

“Following on from my last report and with the carp spawning on my other lake I decided to carry on with the Essex Manor.

The Manor has been fishing very odd this year and the fish have had multiple spawn outs with some females going weeks apart!

After the Heart Tail Leather the week before I managed to catch a fish known as the Peach. This is one of the larger Manor residents usually, reaching weights of up to 52lb! I managed to actually have this fish off of the top which was worth the few hours of work put in to get them taking the mixers.

The next week saw me bag a stunning common at 33lb 4oz from a quiet corner of the lake. I returned to the same area this week and was rewarded with a rather special carp, with its scattered scale lined flanks and perfect mouth. At 28lb 4oz it’s not the biggest by Manor standards but certainly one for the future I’m sure you’ll agree.

Apart from the Peach (as it was off the top) the other two fell to my Tungskin/Recoil hinge Out-Turned Eye 4 and a Ronnie Rig using the curve shanks size 6 and fished naked Helicopter utilising the chod beads.”

All the best
