TEZ TAYLOR – CONFIDENCE BREEDS SUCCESS

2nd May 2019

Terry ‘Tez’ Taylor has had a great spring so far on his North West pit, getting amongst them early and keeping the roll going as they moved around with the weather. Using his trusty pop-up rig tied with our 25lb Tungskin material, size 5 Curve Point Hooks and Hook Ring Swivels, he fished with confidence and the success built with each session. Here is his account of the latest trip.

‘Arriving at the lake the forecast new wind had arrived, a chilly North Easterly! With the lake in question being half a mile long I thought the end of this new wind would be a good place to start my search for them. On this particular water I know that they usually fancy a new wind in the early spring regardless of its origin.  Almost immediately I saw a show in a large bay that is right in the teeth of that particular wind. Rushing to get my gear before the opportunity was missed, I soon had two rods in position, singles at first. It wasn’t long before I had my first, a lovely chestnut mid-twenty mirror. On dark I applied a spread of Manilla boilies with a throwing stick. I had to wait until my last morning for my next bite, a lovely clean upper 20 common which was quickly followed by a plump mid-twenty mirror. None of the big girls but a right result all the same!’

The same rules apply in spring pretty much wherever you fish, location is key and an efficient rig and bait in which you have utmost confidence is the route to success! Well done Terry!
