Lee Wheeler – D Lake Double Row

15th March 2019

When a message drops to the TA inbox with a line ‘your gonna love this one!’ you know it’s going to be a little bit special!

And that was definitely the case with this one from team member Lee Wheeler who was justifiably blown away by his latest achievement. Having had very little time of late to commit to his angling it was incredible to think that Lee had landed a 45lb+ mirror in December and managed just two trips during January and February due to heavy work commitments but still managed to land a superb 33lb 15oz common. With his work load sorted, Lee made the final push for his main target and a few days ago, realised his dream with the stunning 50 year old Norfolk scaly known as Double Row! With a carp such as this, weight is an irrelevance but as Lee said…at 43lb 15oz, it was a truly epic beast and with what little time he has had to commit to the task it makes it an even sweeter result. Lee also caught a corking, dark old 26lb mirror in the same session making it a double celebration on D Lake!

Lee fished his usual simple yet extremely effective Tungskin bottom bait rigs with our soon to be released Size 5 Curve point hooks. Sticky Manilla hookbaits over matching free offerings the way forward for Lee.

Well done from all of us here at TA Lee!
