TOM LORAINE
YEAR BORN: 1983
OCCUPATION: Sales
UK PB MIRROR: 45lb 8oz
UK PB COMMON: 46lb 4oz
FAVOURITE WATER: Anywhere I’m enjoying, usually the Colne or Lea Valley
AVERAGE LENGTH OF SESSION: 24 Hours
Having started fishing sitting behind a float over 25 years ago Tom was always destined to follow those elusive carp. Always happy catching but he always wanted those bigger species.
“Family first and then the business, after all this is a hobby, and without the first two it just wouldn’t be as enjoyable when you finally do get out.”
For many years Tom has chased old English carp, usually something with some history. He favours those “one fish waters” or lower stocked pits. Big or small, as long as the journey is enjoyable and feels like an adventure. As long as he’s learning every time he’s out and putting maximum effort in into each session then he’s happy. Confidence is key and for that reason he only uses the best quality bait and tackle. All those 1%’s add up, and he’s a strong believer in effort equals reward. Never give up.
“The 5 p’s. Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance. Easy! Find the carp first and the rest is down to the rigs, bait and patience.”
