Having Kevin Clifford for a dad, who was once hailed as ‘Carp King of the North’, carp fishing is in Bev’s blood. She grew up in a house with fishing books, magazines and stuffed fish everywhere. When she was 10 years old her father, along with Tim Paisley and Chris Ball, started up Carp-Talk magazine – shortly afterwards she started working in the office, around going to school. It took another 10 years before she began carp fishing herself, but ever since, she’s enjoyed fishing all over the UK and abroad for carp (and other freshwater species too!). Bev doesn’t get to fish for herself as much as she would like, due to work commitments, but when she does, she likes it to be somewhere peaceful and away from the crowds.
Alongside working in the industry, Bev is also heavily involved with the Ladies Carp Team England and also runs the Ladies Carp Academy, which organises events for female anglers wanting to improve their carp fishing skills or get started in the sport. To be able to promote and share her passion and hobby to encourage more female anglers onto the bank is very important to her.
