TA|Insights | Chapter Eight | Stalking Big Carp | Steve Renyard

7th March 2021

Catching carp at close quarters is the most heart stopping form of angling and can be used to single out large, individual fish. The thrill of watching a carp take your bait, before bolting away and the rod coming alive is something that is hard to beat!

In this instalment of TA|Insights, we join Steve Renyard on Junction 12 Lake, in the height of summer. The carp clearly love the hot weather and soon find their way into the margins, leading to some explosive action! Of course, being close to the bank, in a few feet of water, Steve had to adapt his tactics to suit, in order to trip up the wary, deep-bodied, scaly carp the lake is famous for.
